Evan Donald Ratliff, a writer for Wired Magazine, has gone missing. Our goal is to find him as soon as possible. With your help, we can track him down and get Evan back home. Evan is not dangerous, but if you do see him, it’s better that you call our tip line (1-888-603-0968) than to approach him. If approached, Evan might flee further into hiding.
Where could he be?
Evan left home on August 15th, without his passport. Therefore we know that he is somewhere within the United States. He sold his car the day before he left, so he is probably on foot, on a train, renting a car, or has acquired a new vehicle (even a motorcycle). As you can see, the hunt is wide open, so we need all the help we can get.
Where would he go?
Evan has not contacted any friends or family members, and family has asked that they only be contacted through the official channels (so call or email us, not them). It is highly unlikely that Evan is hiding with any friends, because if he was, surely they would send him home.
Evan loves to read, and he loves sports and music. He’s most likely to be seen in a larger city, at a bar or nightclub, or in a bookstore. He always has a paperback novel with him. Also, Evan has Celiac Disease, which means that he can’t eat gluten-based foods like wheat bread or drink beer. He prefers red wine and other alcohol though, so look for the guy at the bar drinking cheap wine and reading a book.
What does he look like?
Evan is 5-foot 11 inches tall, with a medium build and brown curly hair. He has deep blue eyes, and sometimes he wears glasses. He’s handsome and in he is in pretty good shape because he plays Ultimate Frisbee. Evan wears anything from t-shirts and jeans up through a suit (usually no tie), but he is often seen in an un-tucked button up shirt and a pair of comfortable pants.

This search seems to be a waste of time, WHO cares where Evan is?

George, if you don’t know Evan, I can see why you wouldn’t care where he is. His friends and family however do care, and as long as he is missing he is out of touch with those who enjoy his company.
Also, Henry cares quite a bit.
